  1. Hey Brian. Thanks for putting this up…fortuitous timing, too. Modern Tribe is looking for 2-3 people with technical chops to join our support/QA team.

    This is a contract gig offering anywhere from 20-30 hours a week, with the opportunity for more over time, focused largely on providing technical support for WordPress plugins (The Events Calendar + it’s stable of add-ons). Beyond just helping users on the forums there are preventative support — documentation writing, making screencasts, etc — and QA components as well.

    Work is entirely remote and applicants can be anywhere in the world, but must do their work within North American timezones to match up with when the rest of the team is around. Rates offered are $20-30 DOE. Start date is flexible. Our full ad with contact details can be found here: http://m.tri.be/hs.

    Thanks again for the opportunity!

  2. Bourn Creative has an immediate opening for a full time designer & will be hiring a lead developer later this year. We’re a semi-distributed company; meaning schedules are flexible to work from home/remote sometimes, but the majority of working time will be in-office.

    * Custom development
    * Internal project development

    Benefits include:

    * Work remotely
    * Monday-Friday schedule (some weekends when necessary)
    * Pay rate of $30/hr
    * Opportunity to learn from a great team

    Contact us for more information.

  4. At the risk of spamming up your comments section…there’s also a Project Manager gig at Modern Tribe that I’d be neglecting my duties if I failed to include a reference to here. We’re looking for a top-notch PM with WordPress experience who feels comfortable with all aspects of a project lifecycle.

    As with all our gigs, this is a part-time freelance position and is 100% remote. More at our “official” gig listing over at the tri.be site: http://m.tri.be/ht.

  5. Hello WordPress People:

    My name is John Locke, and I operate under the moniker Lockedown Design. I’m currently making my way through a mix of client work and contract agency work. If you have overflow work that needs to get done, or semi-regular work, about 10-15 hours a week that you need help with, feel free to contact me.

    My main forte is front end development, but I can also build a killer custom theme or child theme. I also have a deep understanding of content and marketing.

    I’d also be down to join a team if the fit is right for both of us.

  12. Hello!
    I am Brent Woods and I set up Bitcoin Macroeconomics. This is an example of what I have learned to date with WordPress and HTML and web development as traditionally I have not been a web developer, as I came from sales, account management, and regional management background and did what I was expected of me and what I was told. There comes a point in one’s career where you want to learn new skills and advance and stay on top of your game. This is why I set up the website and this is a live example of what I am doing – as an enthusiast for Bitcoin and alt coins. I have learned a lot and I have had a few battles trying to figure things out, but at least you can see what I have been working on. Rather than working for the corporate masters, I want to bring about real economic development and do what I can do, so this is my mission and a long term project.
    At the same time, I would like to gain experience and see if there are any like minded people that would consider my background and new skills and help me find an entry. I have had a home office for 14 years and I work well independently but want to also work as a team to help learn new things and find that mentorship that got lost many years ago.
    Thanks for allowing me to say that. Please take a look at what I am doing and what I am capable of doing.
