WordPress Junior Developer @ Content Pilot

Job Description

We are seeking a WordPress Junior Developer responsible for front-end development. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and the WordPress content management system. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is required. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Dallas, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Working in a team environment and willingness to jump in and assist in other areas to get the job done
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme
  • The position also may involve learning and supporting a legacy CMS in addition to WordPress

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with a preference for a computer science related field
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience with front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, jQuery on a LAMP stack
  • Experience with Sass/Gulp and frameworks such as Genesis
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and ramifications for consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN
  • Attention to detail in regards to coding standards and code formatting
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Gutenberg
  • A strong desire to learn new technologies and keep up with industry trends
