This is a role for a part-timer or freelancer. It may grow into a full-time position as the WP Buffs team grows and this position’s responsibilities expand!

WP Buffs is the very best 24/7 technical support partner for any individual, business or organization with a WordPress website. Building strong and long-lasting relationships with our customers is our highest priority. We’re looking to add driven people to our team who are obsessed with making customers and partners happy, being a core member of an ambitious team and creating a digital world filled with magnificent WordPress websites. You don’t need to have 20 years of HR experience for this role. But you do need to have proven experience managing remote teams and establishing HR basics (hiring, onboarding, people management, etc).

You also need to love solving complex people challenges to help our team get the absolute most out of their work here.

What’s most important is a love of seeing people life their best lives and do their best work and a passion to help people achieve their personal and professional dreams!

Required experience

  • 2+ years remote working experience
  • 1+ year(s) basic HR experience
  • 1+ year(s) WordPress community experience
  • Strong interpersonal and empathetic character
  • Solid understanding of pain points of remote workers.
  • Proven track record of managing hiring, onboarding, people optimization, etc.
  • Proven track record of running payroll
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication

As the head of our people ops team, you are fully responsible for making sure our team achieves the following outcomes.

  1. Develop, execute and fully manage all strategies and systems behind hiring and onboarding for new team members that scales to 3 new hires every month.
  2. Work with entire team of 25+ 1-on-1 to make sure everyone is happy, effective and continuing to develop professionally.
  3. Fully manage company perks and test out new ones to promote working smarter, not harder.
  4. Fully manage and run payroll 2x/mo.
  5. Ensure WP Buffs is doing everything in its power to be positioned well (both legally and ethically) from an international HR perspective.
  6. Be an active participant in the company culture by being present and communicating with the team in Slack throughout the day.

Salary for this position is completely dependent on your experience, location, technical skills, how well you can help us tackle the outcomes for this position and the competencies you can display as a member of this team. This is something we’re happy to discuss once you’ve gotten further along in the application process.

WP Buffs is a revenue-funded business, meaning we have to be selective with our spending. We cannot afford exorbitant salaries like massive, funded companies can.
