Pavel Ciorici from WPZoom writes a detailed post about how his WordPress theming business took off. He talks about his first theme, Yamidoo Magazine, which at one point was making $10,000 per month in revenue alone.

Pavel also talks about his failures trying to replicate his successes, but after you read about the efforts and time put in by Pavel and his team, it’s hard to disagree with this quote:

I really hope that after sharing my “story” about the effort it can take sometimes to create a great theme, some people will think twice before saying that $69 is too much for a WordPress theme.

I stand by what I wrote about the commoditization of themes in mid-2015 (and 2010 before that).
