At The Events Calendar, you will be a part of a fully remote global team of product managers, designers, engineers, and customer support specialists. We’re dedicated to continuously improving our event management plugins and serving the WordPress community.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of multiple projects from inception to launch and beyond. You should feel comfortable managing dependencies and wrangling complexity into organized projects across various teams and departments. You should ask lots of questions and feel a need to understand the project, champion business goals, and engage in the products and technology enough to anticipate project risks and propose solutions.
This position may be available either full-time or part-time.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage expectations and success criteria for everyone on a project, including the team and internal stakeholders, with a focus on solving problems and developing new features for our customers.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, including scope, deliverables, timeline, and risk mitigation
- Communicate project information, including; status reporting, meeting actions, change requests, risk reports, issue logs, schedule and budget performance charts, etc.
- Manage all aspects of project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans and managing project change lifecycle
- Collaborate with teammates and leadership to align resourcing and project delivery with overall business goals and objectives
- Lead scrums / daily standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Internal Stakeholder Demos, and other meetings
- Perform meeting prep, prepare agendas, and handle all follow up
- Set up and maintain tickets in the project management system
- Coordinate resources and timetables across departments
- Manage project requirements and risks to ensure goals are met
- Manage scope, budget, and timeline constraints and execution
- Collaborate on department efforts to standardize project management methodologies
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of certifications and/or experience
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to use the principles and practices of project management
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and frameworks
- Sufficient level of technical aptitude to effectively assess and communicate any technical risks or challenges
- Able to present ideas, collaborate effectively, and influence at all levels of the organization
- Creativity and flexibility to facilitate leveraging solutions for positive outcomes
- Strong understanding of company/business issues
- Ability to multi-task and ability to exercise flexibility to change priorities as needed
- Proven proficiency in the PM role and function (multi-resource management, work breakdown, management of project issues, risks, dependencies and schedule
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats
- A whiz when it comes to online collaboration tools. You feel at home when we talk about Slack, Zoom, Google Meet, Google Docs, Dropbox, Jira, TeamGantt or any number of online PM tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scrum Master certification
- Project Management Training/Certification within the last 12 months
