Speaking of interview podcasts, Elliot Condon of Advanced Custom Fields spoke about ACF, Gutenberg, and WordPress in general on a recent ShopTalk podcast.

If you are a user or developer invested in ACF, you’ll be happy to read this update from Elliot about his future plans for it:

  • Current versions will be compatible with Gutenberg, although the integration isn’t ideal.
  • The next major update of the free version (5.0) is coming, and it will be the only free version supporting Gutenberg.
  • New ACF functionality allows users to quickly create Gutenberg blocks with ACF fields!

This last item is great news for developers who want another way to interact with Gutenberg.
