A tentative release roadmap for WordPress 4.9.9. has been published. The planned focus areas are accessibility, internationalization, the Site Health Project (Servehappy), and Gutenberg preparation. Anthony Burchell notes: “We will aim to find as many bugs as we can and make any tweaks necessary to allow users time to confidently stay on 4.9.9 while they work towards adopting 5.0.”
