WCEU Was Amazing!
Dear WordPress,
How do I love thee? Let me count the selfies.
And you delivered yet again – with photos, and conversations, and generosity of time, strength, skills, and sponsorship. We raised over $500 at WCEU to help bring underrepresented speakers and organizers to future WordCamps. Thank you.
WCEU was, once again, an amazing event. Kudos to the many, many people who committed the time and energy necessary to put on a multi-day event like WCEU.
The numbers speak for themselves, but are even more impressive when you see them in person. So many people were there that I never even ran into some friends the whole time.
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating – the WordPress community includes some of the most generous people I know. And every time I’m in the company of WordPressers, I feel at ease and secure.
WCEU brought out the best in people again – from a WordPress Building Challenge to being vulnerable on stage talking about having ADHD the topics, the sponsors, the food, the attendees all just “got it right.”
From an accessibility standpoint the venue was amazing – plenty of chairs and seating for those who struggle with walking, wide aisles, accessible toilets, and ramps for those of us on wheels, and closed captioning for those who need to read the text of the speaker’s words.
WCEU 2024 organizers, take a bow – and then get some rest. It’s well deserved.
And next year? We’ll see you all in Basel, Switzerland!
