Financial Review profiled Envato, and in the profile disclosed their revenue and profit margins. Their pre-tax profits last year were $33 million (USD) on $73 million in revenue; the profit margin is listed as double what they made in 2014. I believe the revenue number is after author commissions are paid.
That’s a lot of cash, and the most detailed picture of Envato’s revenue I’ve seen made public. Despite those profits, they seem to be investing most of the money back into the company, as the executive team, “paid themselves only a combined $2.46 million in dividends in the 2015 financial year, only a small slice of the company’s big profit.”
