Here’s the latest stab at making comment sections less awful. A new WordPress comment plugin from Marius Arnesen requires a reader to pass a quiz before being able to comment on an article.
When the comment form only enables until after a user has passed a quiz about the story the user should have read, it certainly means fewer comments overall. At some point we just have to question the value of comments on generic or general population websites.
