She is an experienced international speaker and workshop host and currently leads the community team at Yoast.
What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?
The “we’re all in this together, appreciate each other for who we are, no matter how different we are, and we truly want each other to succeed” kind of vibe. Of course, like everywhere else, we’re not a drama free zone, but this vibe keeps me coming back for more, time and again.
What do you love most about your Post Status membership?
The sense of camaraderie, the way people build each other up and help each other out, is heartwarming.
What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?
Start speaking and blogging. No matter where you are in your career, you’ll have value to bring to others. If you’re in a line of work for a year, you can help out newbies. Your target audience will level up with you. Not only will it help you position yourself as a friendly expert, but working on your content will also force you to think why you do things the way you do and how it gets results. That, in turn, will help you have better sales / consultancy conversations.
Know that, no matter how much of an authority someone might appear to be, chances are, they suffer from insecurity and/or imposter syndrome too. They are where they are because they faced their fear and did it anyway. And so can you.
