I am an experienced technical manager, coach and business leader, having spent over 40 years managing people, projects, budgets and businesses in multiple industries, including manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, and agriculture. My professional experience includes program and project management for enterprise software implementations; communications (written and verbal); financial management and budgeting; hiring, training, and evaluating people; and process and governance design.
My WordPress journey began in 2018 when I started TheCookandTheWriter.com, a food and travel blog I co-author with my wife, Mary. During the pandemic, I published over 30 articles on management techniques at MyManagementMentor.com.
In 2021, Mary and I moved to Portugal, where we lived until late 2024. While there, I was active as an organiser for WordCamp Europe (Porto, Athens, and Torino) and participated in Meetup groups in Porto and Lisbon.
I currently own a small consulting firm – Third Act Partners – where I develop websites and do business development work for small business clients. I also work as the proofreader for TheRepository.email newsletter.
