GoDaddy has acquired Media Temple

In a shocking move (to me), GoDaddy has acquired fellow hosting company Media Temple. According to the post on TechCrunch, Media Temple’s 225 employees will continue to manage its 125,000 customer base as a separate entity. GoDaddy has apparently been on a roll of acquisitions, but this one really surprises me. You can read the letter from Media Temple on their blog. A whole bunch of WordPress sites are hosted on these two providers, and it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
