The biggest issue I’ve ever had with shortlink plugins is that the plugins usually seem like overkill. Custom domains and third party integrations annoy me. Kaspars Dambis seems to have simplified things a bit. His new Numeric Shortlinks plugin creates a shortlink that uses the post ID as the entire slug. For the first time, I think I may be interested in a shortlink plugin.
