Post Status Code of Conduct

  1. Purpose

Post Status is committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, age, caste, social class, preferred operating system, programming language, or text editor, among other identifying characteristics.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

We invite all participants to help us realize a safe and positive experience for everyone.

  1. Respect and Privacy

We strive for Post Status to be a place where conversations can happen in a safe and secure environment. In addition to the other codes listed below, members should feel confident to post their thoughts in a protected manner. Therefore, sharing screenshots, copying text, or otherwise sharing outside of Post Status Slack what anyone has posted or replied within Slack is prohibited. Violation will result in removal from Post Status Slack.

  1. Expected Behavior
  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your fellow participants. Alert Post Status administrators if you notice a dangerous or unwelcoming situation or someone in distress.
  • Participate in an authentic and active way.
  1. Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any Post Status participants on Slack or at in-person events.

Harassment includes (participation spaces like Post Status Slack and Post Status in-person events): offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including Post Status Slack DM’s between community members); deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

  1. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated by anyone in the Post Status community spaces, whether in Post Status Slack or at a Post Status in-person event.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the Post Status administrators may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from Post Status Slack or an in-person event without warning or refund.

  1. What to Do If You Witness or Are Subject to Unacceptable Behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a Post Status administrator as soon as possible.

The Post Status team will be available to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, to provide escorts, or to otherwise assist those experiencing unacceptable behavior (at in-person events) to feel safe for the duration of the event, or confer with participants regarding unacceptable behavior to feel safe participating in Post Status Slack.

  1. Scope

We expect all Post Status participants (sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests) to abide by this code of conduct on Post Status Slack and Post-Status-related social events.
