Scott Bolinger gives advice on “trying to focus on the system, not the results.” In other words, focus on things you can control. You can’t control your traffic or revenue but you can control how much time you spend coding or writing blog posts. Scott encourages you to “keep track of those metrics every day, and base your success on how well you execute your system.”
I also recommend reading Scott’s thoughts on “delayed gratification.” Be prepared to spend considerable time on a task (such as writing content) with no immediate payoff (such as an increase in traffic or subscribers).
I could use more of Scott’s advice.
