eCommerce is getting pretty darn big for WordPress. Daniel Espinoza knows eCommerce. He’s built extensions for both WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads, not to mention some non-WordPress entities.
He’s working on a third-party marketplace aiming to allow anyone to sell their extensions. Right now Shop Plugins is just a landing page and email capture, but if you’re interested in selling eCommerce products, you may be interested in what he’s cooking.
I think it’s safe to say we haven’t hit “peak marketplace”, and I’m personally interested in how more indie and niche marketplaces can do compared to the big ones like Envato or EIG-backed MOJO.
Daniel’s target launch date is February 2nd.
