WordPress plugin popularity has always been pretty tough to figure out. We only had download counts or independent, third party website scrapers to tell us anything. Now, WordPress.org itself has more data that’s being tested and launched to give us real insight into the popularity of WordPress plugins.
BuddyPress is 10 years old! Congrats to the contributors and those who have supported this project over the past decade. I remember using BuddyPress right around the time when it was first committed. If you use BuddyPress, check out the BuddyPress Default Data plugin which recently released a new (1.2) version. BPDDย will create lots of users, messages, friends, connections, groups, topics, activity items, and profile data. This is very useful for testing, kind ofย like FakerPress but for BuddyPress.
