This could probably be a full blown post, but considering the holiday, I’m sticking to a footnote for now. Placester is a real estate website solution, that uses WordPress for many components, including the sites they sell realtors.
It’s been around for quite a while, but they recently raised $27 million. Frederick Townes — also the creator of W3 Total Cache — is a co-founder and the company’s CTO. I’ve seen some reports that W3 Edge has been unresponsive to their caching customers of late (which is not cool, and hopefully not widespread), and I’m assuming this is why — just something to consider if you are considering an upgrade to the pro version of W3TC.
Placester is pretty interesting. They are definitely using WordPress in a big way. It’s another good example of WordPress as a network to keep in your back pocket.
