I know these kinds of tutorials are everywhere. But I saw this one tonight, on a website that (I think) is held in fairly high regard in SEO / marketing land. And I just wanted to cry reading this chapter of their “advanced” guide to SEO for WordPress.
Not all of the advice is bad. Some is even quite good. But it’s all so absolutist. “Do this.” “Paste that.” With little description of what is happening. And yeah, some of it is bad advice. And don’t get me started about how they never advise the user to backup before making some pretty radical changes to the WordPress install.
