Kim Parsell passed away a couple of weeks ago. There have been some excellent tributes to honor her impact on the WordPress community.
She was special woman, and one heck of a contributor to the WordPress project. She was everything you could ask of a community member: kind, hardworking, smart, and fun to chat with.
I met Kim for the first time, after years of online friendship, at the last WordCamp San Francisco and Community Summit. We worked on docs together. I’ll always remember the big hug she gave me when we met and when we said goodbye.
There is going to be a scholarship sponsored by the WordPress Foundation in her name, that will go to a female contributor with financial need. This is such a fitting tribute Kim’s memory, and I’m really pleased to see this happen.
