WordPress 4.9.6 Release Candidate is out, so developers are encouraged to start final testing as soon as possible! There are a number of bug fixes and enhancements, but the most notable is the inclusion of the tools that help site owners and administrators meet the new (GDPR) requirements for user privacy regulations.
The release (at the time of this writing) is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th — just a week from now.
