WordPress 4.9 Beta 4 has been released with over 80 changes since the last beta. As an alternative to downloading and installing the zip archive, you can also use the WordPress Beta Tester plugin.
Speaking of 4.9, Nick Halsey recently showed off the new themes experience in the Customizer. Weston Ruter also showed off the code editing improvements. Overall, I like the updates and feel these are solid improvements to some of the niche areas that needed some polishing.
