Automattic has released a feature to create widgets to offer embed-able feeds for WordPress.com and Jetpack enabled blogs, so you can embed your blog anywhere. It looks just like a Twitter feed, but for a blog.
From a technical standpoint, it seems pretty cool. Justin Shreve notes that it’s built using a REST API. But from a practical standpoint, it honestly feels like more website cruft for most situations. I generally dislike third party embeds, and while I think this is pretty enabling for some static sites, in general I just don’t get stuff like this (including the Twitter / Facebook style ones).
