The team at WordPress.com VIP has partnered with CoSchedule, the editorial plugin that’s gaining popularity. CoSchedule is mostly a hosted application with a WordPress integration. It’s quite nice, for folks that need a variety of editorial tools. Notably, their calendar can replace what Edit Flow has long done well.
Edit Flow has struggled from inattention and neglect, though it’s been a hit amongst mature publications since it launched. It still powers over 10,000 sites, and I’m not sure how VIP sites are counted in that number. Anyway, since Automattic is a primary author of the plugin, I doubt Edit Flow has much potential moving forward now that they have a partnership with CoSchedule.
