Every year more and more people apply to speak at flagship WordCamps, which results in more and more peoples’ talk submissions being declined. Which, although understandable, doesn’t really feel good.
As a result of so many wonderful speakers sharing on social media that their talks have been declined, the WP Speakers Virtual Stage Series has been born!
If you have a talk that would be amazing to get out there, but you haven’t (yet) pitched it successfully, then here is a venue to consider.
These live webinars will run weekly at 11am East Coast USA time (NY/DC/Atlanta), to YouTube via Streamyard. And while we realize that not everyone is awake/functional at that time, there has to be a time when we are able to manage it. Recordings will continue to be available. (More times may be added in the future, but please be understanding as this gets up and under way.)
To apply with your talk, please see the form below. You will hear back from Michelle Frechette about whether your talk has been selected (yes, we do still need to limit the number as we have only so many hours in a week), and about scheduling a week for you to present.
We anticipate this will run throughout the year, so applications are rolling.
(As one friend put it “speaking on the WP Speakers Virtual Stage will make you go from feeling rejected, to feeling respected.”)
Questions? Hit us up on our Contact Form or DM Michelle on any social platform or in Slack.
