Automattic to acquire unnamed service

Automattic is acquiring a security firm that has yet to be named or officially announced. The acquisition is said to be Automattic’s largest yet. Matt Mullenweg spoke to TechWeekEurope about security within WordPress and a bit about this acquisition. Well, I’m super curious who it is and how much the deal is worth. But increased awareness and progressive activity improving security can only be a good thing.

edit: Rarst makes the fantastic point that I missed that these could be two different announcements: their largest acquisition and a boost of attention toward security. Based on how the article was structured, I missed this relative subtlety. So it may not be a security company at all.
