Anyone with experience in client work can probably nod with recognition of the scenario Andy Adams lays out in yet another great post. This time, he talks about the danger of the last 10% of a project where the goal is to marry a small handful of complex solution.
His example is a site that bundles eCommerce, BuddyPress, and Multisite. My red flags fly with every single one of those (in this case, my red flag is the question: “why?”). They are each powerful, and each perfectly appropriate at times, but as Andy knows, can be a handful when you start meshing together. Such projects, if not done correctly, often fail to get off the ground if they ever even get out the door.
Andy gives tips for why these scenarios are bad and how we can do better.
