Check out this MathML block for Gutenberg from Adam Silverstein of 10up. As Adam explains, “MathML is a mathematical markup language, an application of XML for describing mathematical notations and capturing both its structure and content.” MathJax is used to render the MathML formulas in the Gutenberg editor and on the WordPress frontend.
It’s never been easy to display mathematical notation on the web in an attractive, accessible, universal way, but these tools are making it a possibility.
