We’ll put this in the “new to me” category of awesome WordPress development tools. John Blackbourn created something called Extendable CPTs, and it’s glorious. It makes doing all those little things you wish were easier, easier.
It adjust CPT registration defaults to more common ones developers use, as in makes a default registration more page-like than post-like. It also makes custom, sortable columns easy. And it makes customizing the title entry and featured image labels simple.
This. Is. Awesome. Honestly, I know this probably can’t be in core, but I should wish it was.
