This is great — an email size checker that counts up how many Kb your outgoing email will be — for Newsletter Glue. Lesley Sim showed it to me a while ago. In the past I used to do this manually some of the time when drafting Post Status newsletters because Gmail cuts off messages at something like 103Kb for some arbitrary reason — counting only the HTML portion of the email, I think.
Lesley has built us a really nice minimalistic Mailchimp template so we can go as long as possible without hitting that cutoff. Of course, shorter is better, and less is more, but it’s darned hard to do in practice.
