Google releases an official plugin for publishers
Google has released an official plugin called Google Publisher on the WordPress.org repository. Currently, the plugin is in beta and allows you to easily hook up your website to Webmaster tools and also create and manage Adsense, all from within your WordPress dashboard.
This is only the second plugin distributed to the repo under the author, “Google“, their other being Google App Engine. However, other official Google entities have released plugins, such as YouTube, who Range (my employer) collaborated with for their YouTube Upload Widget plugin.
I’m interested to see what else may get built into Google Publisher, which carries a fairly generic name that could potentially include all sorts of Google to WordPress integrations.
Unfortunately, the Google Publisher plugin is deprecated since 2017 and has been removed from the WordPress repository. AdSense recommends using the free plugin Advanced Ads (https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-ads/) for this task instead.
