Topher Derosia has cancelled the Kickstarter for his HeroPress project, after if was still only about a third of the way to the goal with only three days left.
He tells me that he’ll reboot the project with lower financial expectations and a smaller goal, with the aim to support a text-based version of HeroPress. He will only be working on HeroPress part time under the new format.
The project received a good bit of criticism, as well as skepticism to its sustainability. I contributed to some of it. Topher didn’t let those things stop him, and I applaud him for it. However, it obviously didn’t gain the traction he hoped. At the core I think the project is super well intended and could serve a great purpose. Hopefully under the new format it will find its place.
