I reported on GoDaddy‘s likely acquisition of Host Europe Group last year, and touched more on GoDaddy’s positions in general in my post about their Sucuri acquisition.
They have just finalized the acquisition of HEG. These deals takes months to actually happen. Usually the announcement is after hands shake and some papers are signed, but it’s not real until it’s done. Now, for this one, it’s done. HEG really enhances GoDaddy’s international presence, and increases the customer base by more than 10%.
I learned last week that HEG will be operating under its own umbrella within GoDaddy and will not be under the Hosting group. That’s mostly management related, though. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of integrations between HEG and other GoDaddy products over the coming years.
