WordPress came into Bob’s life in 2007, and three years later BobWP was the brand so many of us know and love. The rest is history!
The WordPress community is where Bob shares his love and knowledge of all things WooCommerce, especially the many people making a living with it as online store owners, ecommerce site builders, plugin developers, product owners, and digital agencies.
Currently, Bob lives on the coast in Washington state with Judy and their cat Chester, where he spends a lot of extra time reading fiction and watching film noir.
What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?
I’ll say what no one has said. Community. But seriously the community is what drives every aspect of this open source software. And what I especially love is the successful people who build sites and products in the space have likely gotten to where they are by being energized through the community.
What do you love most about your Post Status membership?
I’ll put it down to individual members. As a whole we do make a fantastic community here on Post Status, but the talents, experiences and diversity, although sometimes hidden, reflects what the goal of Post Status is and how through the membership we can help each other grow and build respect. This is what I love about being a member, I make it what I want to make it.
What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?
Be flexible and stay optimistic. This has been the driving force that kept me going in business for myself for over 35 years. If you start to lose either one of these in any industry, it will easily burn you out and make you a critic rather than a community member.
