Miriam Schwab is the co-Founder and Head of Strattic, an end-to-end static hosting and publishing platform for WordPress websites. After years of dealing with the ongoing struggle of keeping client WordPress sites secure and performant at her agency, Miriam realized that these issues could be solved in a radical way by converting the sites to a static, Jamstack architecture, and founded Strattic.
What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?
I enjoy that WordPress is limitless. Because it’s Open Source, and because it has such a robust ecosystem around it, you can do anything and go anywhere with it. I think that’s one of the things that makes WordPress so amazing – instead of users having to squeeze themselves into the limits of a web platform, WordPress adjusts to support their needs. Obviously WordPress has limits, and you should use it responsibly and for ideal use cases, but I still love that if we really really want, we can do anything with it.
What do you love most about your Post Status membership?
I love that Post Status makes our global WordPress community feel so close and accessible. One of my favorite things about WordPress is the community, and Post Status allows me to stay in touch with people in between WordCamps. Also, the conversations that take place in Post Status are so interesting and informative, and fun π
What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?
Keep learning. We’re in an industry that is always evolving, and always developing, and that’s one of the things that’s so exciting, but also challenging, about it. It’s important to try to stay up to speed on what’s going on directly in our industry, while also keeping an eye on what’s going on around us in parallel industries. It keeps us fresh and current.
