Dear Post Status Community,
I’m writing to share some news about my evolving role and great news about additions and growth on our team at Post Status to support you.
After much consideration with our partners and team, I’ve decided to step back from the day-to-day operations of our business and community to explore new professional opportunities. I know and believe it’s the right time for both me and Post Status. (You can read my personal thoughts on my next chapter here.)
When I took over Post Status from Brian in 2021, my role became a lot more involved than when we originally envisioned four years ago.
My goal for this business has always been to grow what Brian had started and position us to better serve our members and WordPress, and I’m proud to say that we’re in a better position today to keep moving forward with our plans and vision for the Business of WordPress community.
And while I may be stepping back from day-to-day operations, I’m not stepping away or out.
Alongside Joost, Marieke, and Lindsey, I will continue to retain ownership in Post Status and remain an active part of our community, albeit in a different capacity for the business, and more like an advisor and contributor. I’ll continue to host the Post Status Draft podcast, work with our great sponsors, and support our team from an advisory capacity.
But I’m stepping back, knowing our team, stronger and more focused than ever, is committed to promoting, showcasing, and connecting our business members. We’re laser-focused on enhancing the value we provide to each of you.
And here are some key notes about our Post Status team:
MICHELLE FRECHETTE AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alongside this news, I’m thrilled to announce that Michelle Frechette will be stepping up as our new Executive Director. Michelle has shown incredible dedication and insight into our community’s needs, and I’m confident she will be an outstanding point person for both the business and our members.
“I’m really excited about my new role within the Post Status community. I love what we do here, and how helpful we all are to one another. My goal is to continue the amazing work that both Brian and Cory began, bolstered with our amazing team. Come join us at one of our monthly meetups, or message me directly if you’d like to chat. And thank you to Cory and the leadership team for the confidence they’ve placed in me. I plan to do everything I can to live up to it.
I will continue to enjoy my role at StellarWP, while also supporting the Post Status community.”
—Michelle Frechette
“Michelle is a great person and has been doing a great job at Post Status. I trust she will continue to do so as she leads Post Status day to day, and we will continue to make Post Status the cornerstone of the WordPress business community.”
—Joost de Valk, partner
MIKE KLANAC AS NEW PARTNER, ADVISOR
I’ve been working with Mike Klanac for almost two years to formulate and execute our agency member strategy and he has joined Post Status officially as a partner and advisor.
Mike, now Senior Director of Modern Tribe, has deep WordPress agency experience, particularly in sales, marketing and business development, which has been invaluable as we’ve sought to better serve our agency members.
His focus at Post Status is on our revamped Partner Directory and to generate leads for our members, bolstering our sponsorship offerings and new member outreach.
“Watching the way Post Status has supported the special people that make up the WordPress community over the years, I’m thrilled at the opportunity to contribute in that very same spirit as we extend our offerings and partnership to the diverse ecosystem of Digital Agencies, Hosts, and Plugin companies driving the web forward.”
—Mike Klanac
Our Post Status Team
In addition to Michelle and Mike, we have a great team already supporting you, including:
- Nathan Ingram — an agency owner and awesome trainer, who handles our Business news focused on agencies
- Courtney Robertson — awesome contributor for our MakeWP news, supported by GoDaddy
- Olivia Bissett – our media production coordinator
- Dan Maby — who handles our Post Status website and maintenance
Thank you for your continued support and trust. I’m excited about this new chapter for both myself and Post Status, and I look forward to seeing all the incredible things we will achieve together.
This looks like the natural evolution after the hard work (somewhat) relaunching Post Status, and I don’t think we’ll see less of you around. Probably more!
Could you have left PS in better hands. Probably not. And I’m sorry to say that Michelle’s appointment to ED is the story here 😉
Congrats to you both.
Great job so far. Congratulations team on shouldering new responsibilities in the New Year. Here’s to fostering a warm and supportive community ecosystem as we move forward together. Cheers to a promising journey ahead!
