Ryan Sullivan compared seven popular hosting companies’ shared environments for his experiment to see which ones were performing well and which weren’t. I love Ryan’s views on hosting, and trust his experiment. This is a valuable resource. However, I’d really love to see this experiment run every month for a year, to see how it changes over time. I think servers are funky enough to justify that.

I totally agree Brian about keeping this going long term. Hosts change, improve, etc over time. What’ll be cool is when we can look at some of this benchmarking over the course of a year and really see who’s killing it and who… isn’t 🙂 Thanks for adding the link to Post Status but thanks even more for the trust comment! That’s big. (Also, I’ve got plans for this. More hosts, more service levels, etc). It’s gonna be fun.
