Shifting to a new role to build the WordPress workforce

Most of you know me as the Director of Operations for Post Status. As of July 1st, I will be on a new adventure of my own with Cory Miller at my side. Over the last few months, I have been working with a company that helps United States Army personnel find their next career path once they separate from the military. 

We had the great idea to start WP Connects LLC to help these amazing men and women start careers in WordPress! This is an exciting opportunity for all of us. It will help us to bring people into the WordPress community who have great skillsets and experience relevant to every role in our industry. 

Our first training class will be in August 2022. We need mentors who can dedicate themselves to a few hours a week and help our students along their journey. This will only be a 10-week time commitment per class.  If you are interested in being a mentor please reach out to me!

We also have a new program rolling out on August 1, 2022. It will allow these men and women to find internships or employment. The US government offers employers incentives to hire and work with separating military personnel. If your company is experiencing a hiring need or if you would be willing to sponsor an intern, reach out to us as well. Together we can help these men and women successfully transition into their new career paths. 

It’s been great being a part of the WordPress community at Post Status, and that will continue in other ways that support Post Status’s mission.
