The aftermath of the Panama Papers is going to be happening for a long time, but a few sources that are trying to figure how exactly the link happened have been recently mentioning a three-year old install of Drupal. A “three month old” WordPress install is also mentioned, but the focus seems to be on the Drupal install.
Revolution Slider seems to be at least one of the WordPress attack vectors used.
I don’t have all my ducks in a row yet on this story, but obviously open source security is taking a hit with this news, even though the exploits seem to have been made through outdated software, which of course should have been updated. I imagine we’ll be talking about this a good bit more.
