The latest version of Gutenberg (2.1) is out with another healthy list of improvements and additions. As Matias Ventura reports, the update iterates further on aspects of the design and writing flow with enhancements like lighter up/down movers. It also brings many extensibility API improvements.
As the final stages for features are approached, Matias notes the goal is to finalize the nested blocks interface (with its own Columns component), add drag-and-drop functionality for moving and inserting blocks, and a few other improvements.
It certainly looks like Gutenberg development is accelerating, and although it’s far from complete, its developers appear to be seeing the finish line in the distance.
