Weston Ruter has come up with a snippet that can serve as a starting point for those writing WordPress plugins that want to “reset” the WordPress customizer.
This “reset” means that when the customizer opens, only the section containing the controls the plugin author wants the user to see are displayed (such as plugin settings). I absolutely love this concept, and you can check out the plugin in Github.
