Brian Richards has launched a new project called WPSessions. WPSessions is a series of monthly presentations from some of the foremost experts in the community. The first Session will be Saturday, June 22nd on Building WordPress Plugins.
Brian says that the sessions will range from introductory level to expert level content. There are three presenters in the first Session: Pippin Williamson, Daniel Espinoza, and Topher DeRosia. Each brings an enormous amount of knowledge and experience to the table.
You can watch more of Brian’s motiviations for WPSessions below:
Each Session costs $25, but you can get the first one on sale for $20 right now. Brian is also considering a semester subscription for Sessions that may come soon. There are not very many tickets available for the first session, so if you want to see these folks in action, you’ll need to act soon.
Brian also tells me that he will make sessions publicly available via WordPress.tv after four months. However, for the quality of the presenters, $25 is a bargain in my opinion. The primary reason Brian is charging for sessions in the first place is so that he can pay presenters, in order to maintain a high level of quality over the long term. I think this is a great idea, and allows for a win-win-win for presenters, attendees, and hopefully Brian as well.
