What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?
The community! I’ve never experienced anything like it. Whether you’re new to WordPress or have been around since the beginning, there’s space for you to contribute and take part in all it has to offer. I particularly love the focus on inclusivity — anyone can sit at any table they like and that’s awesome.
What do you love most about your Post Status membership?
Also the community! (lol) The weekly newsletters are wonderful for staying on top of all of the various WordPress topics everyone’s buzzing about, and the Slack is amazing for connections with others. I read more than I write, but there are so many smart individuals, I just can’t help myself! Post Status gathers WordPress professionals and everyone naturally works together to help one another. It’s a “good people” magnet.
What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?
When in doubt, lead with kindness. It’s always in style and is not only important for how we treat others, but also how we treat ourselves. There are enough challenges in the day. We can be the light for someone else with something as simple as a kind word, a few moments of your time to help them with something, or just some compassion when someone makes a mistake. Grace and good will are rarely regretted.
