Todd E. Jones is a content creator, a storyteller, and a digital marketer — and the founder of Copyflight. A few years ago he discovered the power of storytelling, and he never looked back. Ever since then, he has used strategic storytelling to help companies with their messaging.

Todd has a myriad of interests including music, dirt track racing, professional wrestling, and coffee. Todd likes working with companies who want leave a legacy as much or more than make a profit.

What do you enjoy most about working in WordPress?

I like that I can make it into almost anything, and it is the best CMS platform for easy publishing. I love the open-source nature (I did an article about that once!) and have had so many people to happily help me when I needed help.

What do you love most about your Post Status membership?

The best thing about the Post Status membership is that if you need to connect with someone in any of the many WordPress companies, they are already there in Post Status. I have made some great connections.

I like the Wednesday huddle as well. It is a great time to catch up with others, offer, and request help if you need it.

What business/web/WordPress advice do you have for others in our industry?

Simplify your message. Make it understandable. It takes some work. It doesn’t just happen. Website copywriting is somewhat different than writing a blog post.

Additionally, I would say engage marketing and public relations. It doesn’t have to be super complicated or a high-end budget. If you fail to market, you will struggle to get traction.

The companies in our space who do the best job of marketing and public relations are the ones that grow and last long-term.
