Petya Raykovska has a non-developer’s guide to the future of WordPress, which is a summary of her talk at WordCamp London 2016. She stresses the point that the WordPress REST API will enable WordPress to become a headless CMS, which “will teach WordPress to delegate” and be more focused. There are some challenges of course, and her lessons learned with the A Day of REST website are worth reading.
